Common Reasons Why Softex MC Auto-update is not working?

Since Market Control ERP by Softex Offers a unique feature of self repairing and downloading New Versions and upgrades automatically for the application users, there are some reasons that causes the AutoUpdate service to fail while downloading updates. We would like to share it here in order to make it easy for you to use the free Auto-update service by Softex Software House

 

1. The Market Control Folder is set as Read only:

- Market Control is a windows application that resides within a folder , if this folder is flagged by windows settings as read-only folder, the auto-update agent will not be able to write down the new downloaded files, in order to resolve this just make sure that the MC Folder is not Read-only.

 

2. The Current User does not have internet connection or the firewall is preventing downloads:

- In such case the Auto-update service will not be able the latest software update packages, just configure internet / firewall even for a limited time to download the new version and then close it back again if you like.

 

3. The Market Control Folder is placed on Desktop (Specially for windows 7 , 8 or later) :

- For new windows OS versions , the operating system prevents any software to modify files on the desktop or start menu to prevent viruses and Trojans from missing up your system, according to this level of protection, the OS itself might be configured to prevent auto-download of files / updates on desktop folders, it is highly recommended to place the market control folder outside of C Drive , but if you have only one partition, then it is better not to place the MC on desktop, instead place it anywhere else and create a shortcut for the software on your desktop.
